Derek achieved his current status by becoming the resident medium for the TV show, Most Haunted, in which he investigated haunted properties. The programme proved to be a huge success with the UK viewing public, achieving phenomenal audience figures. There have subsequently been numerous live programmes, which have seen audiences reach in excess of 2 million. The UK success of Most Haunted has led to the programme being sold worldwide, including New Zealand.
Derek Acorah’s public profile and status as the UK’s No. 1 Spirit Medium has led to numerous other TV shows an appearances such as Paranormal Egypt in which Derek travelled to Egypt to record and 8-programme series and nationally televised live séance where Derek attempted to contact Michael Jackson on November 6th 2009. In 2005 Derek appeared alongside two other Mediums Colin Fry (6ixth Sense With Colin Fry) and Tony Stockwell (Street Psychic) for a sold out show that was filmed for television and DVD release call The Three Mediums. Derek’s hugely entertaining and charismatic style continues to be a major box office attraction.
In 2004, his book ‘The Psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah’ was released and spent and unprecedented 14 weeks in The Sunday Times Best Sellers list, his second book ‘Ghost Hunting with Derek Acorah’ repeated this success and to date they have also released numerous more books.
